Technology Grants
The AgStar Fund for Rural America supports the advancement and use of technology for the benefit of farmers and rural communities.
Alpha Fire and Rescue – Purchased paging equipment and handheld radios for emergency communication system.
Blue Earth Fire Department – Supplied fire and rescue department members with current communications devices.
Ceylon Fire Department – Purchased pagers for firefighters.
Cleveland Fire Department – Provided firefighters with handheld radios to enhance communication system.
Easter Seals Wisconsin – Funded a rehabilitation specialist position in northwest Wisconsin for the FARM Program, which provides services to disabled farmers, including on-farm assessments and employment plans, and securing assistive technologies and worksite modifications for farmers.
Janesville Fire Department - Provided firefighters with equipment that meets standards for countywide paging and emergency communication system.
Minnesota Rural Partners, Inc. – Funds help research and develop business strategy information and training to benefit small business in rural areas, using online capabilities.
Morristown Fire Department – Purchased a 1600 Series Class A foam injection system for the first response pumper truck. This equipment will provide faster and more efficient fire suppression for car and farm equipment fires.
Partners in Education – Provided Rushford-Peterson Schools with laptop computers for mobile computer lab.
Sibley Community Technology Centers (CTC) – Helped farmers access Farm Program information online and assist rural businesses in e-commerce initiatives.
The Vernon Center Fire Department – Enhanced communication between emergency units and increased response time. Funds from the grant will be used to provide and implement a modern, reliable paging and communication system.
Wells Historical Society – Provided the Wells Historical Society with a DVD video editing system and touch video screen for recording area residents’ experiences.
