AgStar Scholars Program

The AgStar Scholars Program provides education, support and insight to students interested in agricultural financing or agricultural-related careers.

AgStar Financial Services partnered with the University of Minnesota – St. Paul and the University of Wisconsin – River Falls to create this integrated program. After applying the fall of their junior year, students will be considered by a committee consisting of AgStar representatives. The best candidates for the program will be selected as participants for their senior year.

The AgStar Scholars Program includes:

  • AgStar Scholar Scholarships – A $2,000 scholarship awarded to each student in the program and dispersed during the fall semester of senior year.
  • Orientation Session – A one-day seminar held to provide an overview of agricultural financing in general, and AgStar in particular.
  • Guest Lectures – AgStar executives will present lectures focusing on specific areas within agricultural financing.
  • Research Project – Each Scholar will complete a rural or agriculture-related research project and present it to AgStar and University representatives.
  • Internships – Scholars have the first opportunity for a paid internship with AgStar.  Assignment could cover credit, sales or special projects during the course of a 10 to 12-week period.
